Privacy: what EZOBLOCKER collects, and what it doesn't

EZOBLOCKER keeps no log of the sites you visit. It registers your device anonymously with no account, stores your device token only as a hash, and keeps the Blocked screen only on your phone. Only DNS lookups reach our servers, encrypted with DNS over HTTPS.

Does EZOBLOCKER log the sites I visit?

No. No record of the sites you visit is kept on our servers. The DNS server runs with its query log switched off, and the web server has no access log. Only anonymous totals are kept.

What does reach your servers?

Only the DNS lookups. When you open a site or an app, your phone asks where to go, and EZOBLOCKER sends that small question to our servers over an encrypted connection (DNS over HTTPS). Pages, videos, messages and passwords load directly and don't pass through us. That is why your phone shows a VPN or key icon: the app uses the VPN setting only to catch DNS lookups.

Do I need an account?

No. The app registers your device anonymously. We don't ask for your name or email. A random device number, your phone type, the app version and your choices are stored.

Signing in with a Merasus ID (email, Apple or Google) is optional. It is used for subscriptions, such as using the same subscription on another device. It is separate from the anonymous device registration.

What is stored on the server?

  • An anonymous device ID, which the app uses to identify your device. The access token behind it is stored on the server only as a hash, and it isn't written to logs.
  • The categories you chose.
  • The addresses in My list, up to 250 per list.
  • Your subscription status.

If you send feedback, we receive what you write plus diagnostic info, which you can switch off. You can also choose to share connection health: daily drop and error counts are added to anonymous totals, and site names aren't sent.

Where is the Blocked screen kept?

Only on your phone. The Blocked screen, which shows what was stopped, is not sent anywhere and our server doesn't see it. You choose how long it keeps entries under Privacy: off, 24 hours or 7 days, which is the starting choice. You can clear it any time with Clear list.

What happens if your servers can't be reached?

So your internet doesn't cut out, site names may briefly go to well-known public DNS services such as Cloudflare or Quad9. If you chose a stricter fallback in Family lock, the phone behaves as you chose. The parental control page explains the three fallback options.

What if I pick another DNS provider?

Under Advanced you can choose another provider. Your lookups then go straight to that provider and fall under its privacy policy. EZOBLOCKER doesn't see them, and its categories, My list and bypass blocking don't apply. When needed, only the provider's own address is looked up through Cloudflare or Quad9. The app explains this on the Privacy screen and before you switch. See the DNS changer page for the list of providers.

Do you sell or share my data?

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone. You can delete all of it in the app: under Privacy, Delete my data removes your device number, your choices and the settings on that phone, and this can't be undone.

What can't a filter promise about privacy?

A DNS filter works on addresses, so it doesn't hide your IP address or location, and it isn't a VPN for that. Apps that use their own encrypted DNS skip the filter. The limits page covers this plainly.

Where is the full policy?

The full privacy policy is at merasus.com/policy. This page is a plain-language summary of what the app does, and the policy is the binding text.
